On the Edge, 2022

October 18, 2021, piercing headache. Brain scan reveled a subdural hematoma. Could walk and talk. October 26, extension of brain bleed. October 29, craniotomy. Two AM October 31, docs told my husband I would not survive the night. A few days later, woke up and could not move my right side. December 10, after 53 days in the hospital, released from rehab hospital walking with a walker and writing with my right hand. By February, 2022, was creating again. During the summer, I was compelled to create On the Edge. When I finished, a weight was lifted. The trauma, pain and fear were transferred to the quilt, no longer inside me.
